A day at Green and Gorgeous.

We spent a wonderful Sunday with Green and Gorgeous in Oxfordshire where we learned how to maximise our cut flower patch. Firstly I can't recommend enough how invaluable a course with Green and Gorgeous is for anyone wanting to start flower farming! I literally could not stop thinking about all this new information for hours, my hubby has never witnessed me so quiet ha.

The day kicked off with fresh coffee and homemade cookies baked by Ashley (wow he's one good cook!), then it was off to hear a talk from Rachel about how Green and Gorgeous started followed by a tour of the 4 acre flower farm. As it was the first week in September it was dahliatastic! Row upon row of gorgeous blooms and roses to swoon over.

I've been a gardener for years but when it comes to plants you never stop learning, I think it's so important to attend classes regularly to brush up on skills and learn new tips.

We then had a talk on soil type, irrigation, and flowers by the seasons before getting to sow some seeds off this years crops.

Lunch was a scrumptious homemade courgette tart with seasonal salads, followed by Ashleys amazing raspberry ice cream and meringues washed down with more tea and coffee.

We then had a demo on making a hand tied bouquet before being let loose on the dahlia beds!

I went for bright corals and hot pinks for a change, and Mr C went for white and pinks.

I also fell a little bit in love with Jessie the whippet who followed us round for most of the day.

I can't wait to get started on our plot and will be going back to Green and Gorgeous next year to refresh and pick up some more tips on my roses.
