Home made flower food recipe.

 

Hello everyone,

These are the last of the cosmos from our garden at A Bunch Of Wild.

I am now rushing around pulling them all out, planting new bulbs and generally putting the garden to bed.

I thought I'd share with you my grandmothers recipe for home made flower food, it's so simple!

1tsp bleach + 1/2 tsp castor sugar to 300ml of tepid water.

How easy is that?! The bleach kills the bacteria that would of otherwise killed the blooms but doesn't harm the flowers. 

And the little bit of sugar helps top up their own sugar content keeping them perky for longer.

Make sure you remember that there is bleach in the water when your placing around the home and don't spill it on your clothes.

Extra tip

 Change the water every few days to ensure longer lasting blooms!
